Clean bill of health for Derry boss Higgins

Ruaidhri Higgins has no new injury concerns to contend with this weekend as he takes his side to the Showgrounds on Saturday evening to take on Sligo Rovers.

Back-to-back home wins over Drogheda and Dundalk have certainly raised the spirits around the Brandywell. Higgins however is well aware that the Bit o’ Red will provide a huge challenge for his improving side.

“They’re third in the table for a reason and we’re fully aware that it will be a difficult night for us” he said.

“You get nothing down there unless you earn it and we will have to be switched on from the start. We’ve been in good form of late and we have to try to keep that momentum going and see where it takes us.”

“On the team front, Junior will be back in the squad with Marc Walsh still ruled out with a hamstring injury. Other than that we’re good to go.”

“It’s another game we’re looking forward to in all honesty- we know these are the nights where three points can really give everyone a lift.”
