It’s emerged that a number patients were left waiting in an ambulance at Letterkenny University Hospital for over 6 hours due to turnaround delays at the hospital.
The Vice Chair of the Regional Health Forum West, Councillor Gerry McMonagle says the growing number of ambulances being delayed at the hospital raises questions as to how this is impacting the availability of ambulances to service the county.
The CEO of the Saolta University Health Care Group, Tony Canavan, while acknowledging there are ongoing difficulties at Letterkenny University Hospital says there has been some improvement.
