The Cathaoirleach of the Donegal Municipal District says it’s vital that a major safety programme take place at the Castlegarden junction outside Ballyshannon.
There have been fatalities in the area in the past, and Cllr Barry Sweeney says there were two serious incidents over Christmas.
He says some work has been done in terms of road markings and signage, but a major scheme is necessary to improve sight lines and make access on to the main road safer.
Cllr Sweeney says it’s vital that preparatory work for a new scheme begins as quickly as possible……
