Fresh legal action on NI protocol labelled a ‘distraction’

The SDLP has described fresh legal action on the Northern Ireland Protocol as a distraction.

A group of politicians, led by Jim Allister of the Traditional Unionist Voice party, is taking a legal challenge on the post-Brexit trade agreement to the UK’s Supreme Court.

They’ve been granted permission by the Court of Appeal in the UK to challenge a ruling which previously decided the protocol was lawful.

The SDLP’s Brexit Spokesperson and candidate for South Belfast, Matthew O’Toole, says the protocol hasn’t been raised by voters he’s spoken to during the Stormont election campaign:
