Government under further pressure to increase minimum wage

A Donegal Deputy believes minimum wage should be increased to meet the living wage.

Deputy Thomas Pringle says a Labour Living Wage Bill is a necessary first step but doesn’t go far enough.

He told the Dail that due to the cost of living, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to survive on the living wage, nevermind the minimum wage.

Deputy Pringle says increasing the minimum wage would in turn help in the retention of people in rural areas:
