A US cross-party committee has criticised the British government’s plans to overturn parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
The Ad Hoc Committee to Protect the Good Friday Agreement has called on US President Joe Biden to use all diplomatic tools to suspend any talks on a trade agreement with Britain until a the bill to rip up parts of the Protocol is rescinded.
The Committee adds that the UK government is ‘acting in bad faith’, while agreeing with Taoiseach Micheal Martin that the bill is ‘a fundamental breach of trust’.
