Commemorations held for 50th anniversary of Claudy bombing

Survivors and families of those killed in the Claudy bombings in the County Derry village 50 years ago are marking the anniversary.

Nine people – Catholics and Protestants – were killed, and 30 others were injured when three car bombs exploded on this day in 1972.

The attack was blamed on the Provisional IRA – but they never claimed responsibility for the attack, and no one has ever been convicted for the bombings.
