Mona McSharry finished in fifth place in the final of the Women’s 100-metre breaststroke at the European Championships in Rome on Saturday afternoon.
McSharry, finished in a time of one minute 7.14 seconds which is less than a second off a bronze medal place.
The race was won by Italian Benedetta Pilato in a time of one minute, 5.97 seconds.
