NPHET to deal with monkeypox being set up by government

A NPHET to deal with monkeypox is being set up by the government.

The Strategic Advisory Group will have 16 members from the Department of Health and the HSE, as well as virologists, and will advise the government on how best to respond to outbreaks.

Last month the World Health Organisation declared it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

113 cases of the virus have been detected in Ireland.
