Antigen test requirement in North for people with Covid symptoms to be removed

People in the North with Covid symptoms will no longer have to take an antigen test from Monday.

Those eligible for new Covid treatments and people working in health and social care settings will continue to be advised to test.

Dr Joanne McClean, the Associate Deputy Chief Medical Officer, says if people have a high temperature or do not feel well enough to go to work, they should stay home and minimise contact with others.

For those who decide to test themselves and return a positive result, the advice for adults is to stay home and avoid contact with others for five days from the date of the positive test.

The isolation period for children is three days.
