Ballybofey continues to have a high commercial vacancy rate

Ballybofey continues to have the highest commercial vacancy rate in the country at 30%.

As a whole, the county has the third highest commercial vacancy rate nationally following an increase to 17%.

According to GeoDirectory, the commercial vacancy rate in Donegal has increased 0.4% when compared to June 2021.

The county has the highest vacancy rate in Ulster.

The report found that Ballybofey, remained the town with the highest commercial vacancy rate in Ireland at 30.2%, registering an increase of 0.9% while Buncrana has the lowest rate.

Elsewhere in Donegal, Letterkenny has a commercial vacancy rate of 21.7%, Donegal Town 16.9% and Bundoran 14.8%.

Services accounted for 74.6% of total occupied units in Bundoran with Donegal Town, Buncrana, Ballybofey and Letterkenny also having over half their address points allocated to the sector.
