Buncrana resident hits out at Irish Water’s failure to replace lead pipes

A resident in Buncrana has raised concerns about the quality of her water supply after it emerged that the lead piping on her street has not been replaced in 80 years.

Tracey, who spoke to Greg on today’s Nine til Noon Show, says the pipes have to be flushed regularly and the water has caused damage to her shower and washing machine.

She says the water can only be used after boiling, and is a health hazard.

However, Tracey told Greg Irish Water are suggesting they check their own pipes first to see if the problem is in the house, despite the fact that the council has already said the problem is on the street…..
