Victims of Creeslough tragedy are formally named

The ten victims of the Creeslough tragedy

Gardaí have formally named the ten victims that died in the Creeslough explosion on Friday.

Those who passed away were:

James O Flaherty, aged 48 years.

Jessica Gallagher, aged 24 years.

Martin McGill, aged 49 years.

Catherine O Donnell, aged 39 years, and her son James Monaghan, aged 13 years.

Hugh Kelly, aged 59 years.Martina Martin, aged 49 years.

Robert Garwe, aged 50 years, and his daughter Shauna Flanagan Garwe, aged 5 years.

Leona Harper, aged 14 years.

Gardaí say that a further eight people remain in hospital following the incident. One man in his 20s is in a critical condition at St James’ Hospital in Dublin, with the seven other casualties continuing to receive treatment at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Gardaí say they continue to investigate all of the circumstances of the incident, and that the Garda Technical Bureau, with assistance from other agencies, will continue to examine the scene, which remains cordoned off.

These examinations are likely to continue over the coming days. Traffic diversions on the N56 at the scene of the incident remain in place.
