MP Finucane says Omagh bomb families and people of NI deserves answers

Sinn Féin says it’s important to Northern Irish society as a whole that the circumstances surrounding the Omagh Bombing are fully investigated.

This week, Secretary of State Chris Heaton-Harries announced an independent inquiry into the 1998 County Tyrone attack, after the High Court in Belfast ruled that there has not been an adequate investigation to date.

It will look into whether security services could have prevented the bombing, had they acted on the intelligence available to them.
