Efforts are being made to reduce domestic, sexual and gender-based violence.
The Justice Minister Simon Harris says a dedicated State Agency will oversee the dramatic increase in refuge accommodation for victims.
The new Domestic, Sexual and Gender Based Violence body will be set up by the start of January next year.
