A car was detected travelling at 137km/h in a 100km/h zone by the Buncrana roads policing unit.
The incident occurred on the N13.
A fixed charge penalty notice will be issued to the driver, as well at a €160 fine and 3 penalty points.
Gardai are urging road users to slow down in order to help save lives.
