Donegal County Council has approved a €300,000 Bridge Strengthening Programme 2023, which will see works on nine bridges over the next six months.
The nine bridges approved by members for inclusion in this year’s strengthening programme are Mullinamuckley in the Donegal MD, Clonbeg and Graffy in Glenties, Ballymagaghey and Glashkeelan in Letterkenny-Milford, Mount Scourge and Claggan in Inishowen, and Calhame and Glen in Lifford-Stranorlar.
A total of €300,000 has been set aside for the nine projects, with between €50,000 and €20,000 being spent on each project.
Members were told the works will take place between May and September, in accordance with the regulations governing works on watercourses.
Earlier this year, €635,000 was allocated for the repair of 19 bridges on high priority roads across the county.
