Cat shot 15 times with pellet gun

Animals in Need Donegal have taken to social media to make an appeal against the mistreatment of animals, in particular, cruelty to cats.

The post comes with the shocking discovery of pellets from a type of gun embedded in the skin of a cat in the charities care.

In the post, the charity say they had been de-matting the animal from the Mountcharles area and had discovered 7 pellets throughout the process.

An x-ray showed a further 8 pellets embedded deeper in the cat’s body, which will not be removed at this time.

The rescue centre have condemned the actions and taken the matter to the Gardaí.
