Devices recovered in Derry confirmed to be viable pipe bombs

Police have confirmed that the devices recovered from the City Cemetery in Derry yesterday were viable pipe bombs.

Derry City and Strabane Area Commander, Chief Superintendent Nigel Goddard says they believe the devices would have been used to attack police.

The Terrorism Investigation Unit is continuing their enquiries with the main line of enquiry that the pipe bombs are attributed to the New IRA.
