Police in Derry are appealing for information after a suspected petrol bomb was thrown at a patrol vehicle.
The incident took place while officers were responding to activity in the Shearwater Way at around 10 am yesterday morning.
Its reported a man of slim build and dressed in black approached the vehicle from behind, running towards the drivers door before throwing an object at the window.
The man then made off on foot.
There was no damage to the vehicle but police stress that this incident could have resulted in serious injuries and was terrifying for officers involved.
Any witnesses or those with information are urged to contact the PSNI.
