The PSNI has revealed that Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell has been discharged from hospital.
He was shot several times after an underage football training session in Omagh on February 22nd.
A number of arrests have been made since the attack, but nobody has been charged.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has asked that “John and his family are given privacy at this time”.
