Calls for government to voice opposition to deployment of cluster bombs in Ukraine

There are growing calls for the government here to voice it’s opposition to the deployment of cluster bombs in Ukraine.

The US has agreed to supply them to the Ukrainians for use in the conflict with Russia.

They are banned by over a hundred countries worldwide because of the risk they pose to civilians.

Green Party MEP Ciaran Cuffe says Ireland has been to the fore in opposing the their use:
