British MPs believe power sharing rules in NI should be changed to bring back devolved government

A group of British MPs say power sharing rules in Northern Ireland should be urgently changed to bring back devolved government there.

Civil servants are currently in charge of decision-making.

The DUP brought down the executive when they pulled out in protest at post-Brexit trading.

The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee claims by letting a speaker of the assembly be elected with a two-thirds majority – business could restart.
