No evidence of increase in crime rates in areas accommodating asylum seekers – Tanaiste

The Tánaiste says there’s no evidence to suggest that crime rates increase in areas where asylum seekers are being accommodated.

There have been several protests around the country in recent weeks in areas where international protection applicants are to be housed.

Some protestors have raised concerns that there could be an increase in crime if asylum seekers move into their town or village.

However, Micheál Martin says there is absolutely no evidence to back up these concerns:
