Over £700,000 has been lost to romance fraud in the North in the last 10 months.
The PSNI is raising awareness of what it describes as ‘this cruel and very personal ‘ fraud by criminals ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Police believe it is under reported because people feel embarrassed.
