Derry City opened their new season with a 2-1 victory over Drogheda United at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
Higgins was happy enough with the first half performance and for new signing Patrick Hoban to get on the scoresheet against a side that have caused some problems for the candystripes in recent seasons.
