Assembly told lack of progress on Strabane Public Realm scheme is leading to people being injured

The Stormont Assembly has been told that footpaths in Strabane town centre are in a very bad state of disrepair because of delays in progressing a £7 million public realm scheme.

West Tyrone MLA Daniel McCrossan told the assembly the works were confirmed almost five years ago, but nothing has happened since then.

However, he says the fact that the works were approved means that improvement and maintenance work is not being done, and a number of people have tripped and been injured as a result.

Mr McCrossan is hoping for progress sooner rather than later…………
