Animal abuse in Derry and Tyrone raised in NI Assembley


Animal abuse in counties Derry and Tyrone was raised in the Northern Ireland Assembly yesterday.

East Derry MLA Cara Hunter says current legislation is ‘weak as water’ and sentences handed to the perpetrators are not heavy enough.

She says there is clearly an issue with violence on animals, and that must be examined.
