While remediation works have been complete at Riverwalk House, due to staffing issues the service cannot reopen.
It means the gap in respite facilities in Inishowen is set to linger on.
Cllr Albert Doherty welcomed the news that the works needed have been carried out.
However he expressed frustration and disappointment that in spite of this, the building still cannot be seen to fulfil its purpose for the community:
