A new scheme has been launched by the Government and the EU, which will support new entrants into the fishing industry.
The Young Fisher Scheme provides support to those wishing to purchase their first fishing vessel and grants of up to 40% of the cost of purchasing a vessel are available.
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie Mc Conalogue TD says the support is now there for those who had been struggling to get into the industry.
