Low water level at Lough Columbkille have ‘stabilized’

Concerns have been expressed over the unusually low water levels at Lough Columbkille in Milford.

Uisce Éireann has confirmed that the lake levels are indeed at their lowest point in several years.

However, they have assured the public that measures are in place to address the issue.

The water utility company closely monitors lake levels, water demand, and supply production.

While acknowledging the impact of below-average rainfall, Uisce Éireann has significantly reduced water abstraction from the lake to help restore levels.

The company has reported that water levels have stabilized in recent weeks and are not expected to decrease further.

To maintain water supply and encourage conservation, Uisce Éireann has urged the public to use water wisely.

Additionally, the company is actively working to reduce water loss through leaks in the Milford area.
