Users are reporting issues with accessing the social media sites right across the world.
888 Facebook users in Ireland have reported problems to the website Downdetector while 583 reports of issues with Whatsapp have been recorded over the last hour.
Issues with sending and receiving messages and trouble logging in are the most common problem reported.
