Cold snap on the way as temperatures drop

A cold snap is on the way, with a status yellow ice warning in effect for Northern Ireland until 10 o’clock this morning.

Temperatures are not expected to rise above 5 degrees, with the risk of hail or sleet in the west and north of the country.

Night time temperatures over the coming days are set to fall as low as minus 3.
