Donegal County Council says if car parking facilities are to be developed at the entrance to the Bridle Path in Glenveagh National Park,
there will need to be close cooperation with the National Parks and Wildlife Service because the site would be within a Special Area of Conservation.
The issue was raised by Cllr Donal Mandy Kelly, who urged officials to ensure that all avenues are explored to secure adequate funding to construct a car parking facility to serve the Bridle Path.
He accepts concerns about the area’s environmental status, but says there is a road safety issue that cannot be ignored………….
