There’s shock and sadness with the news that St Mary”s Chapel in Derrybeg was destroyed in an overnight fire.
The alarm was raised around 4am with five units of the fire service, along with gardai, responding to the scene.
It’s not yet known how the fire started but we understand Gardai are investigating to determine if the fire was started deliberately.
No injuries are reported.
