Donegal County Council have confirmed that they have not granted a planning exemption to the owners of the Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin to operate as an IPAS centre.
Deputy Padraig Mac Lochlainn also received confirmation from the Housing Department this evening.
They say the International Protection Accommodation Service did receive an offer in respect of the hotel but the property is no longer under consideration.
