A garda has been killed while “on traffic duty” in north Dublin.
They died following a collision on the R132 at Lanestown near Lusk this afternoon.
The road has been closed and diversions are in place.
The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors says it’s “devastating” – adding that “no Garda shift is ever routine, but this one has ended in the most horrendous of circumstances.”
