82 patients on trolleys in the Northwest this morning


501 admitted patients were on trolleys in hospitals this morning.

The INMO says 331 of those were in emergency departments, while 170 were in wards.

Sligo University Hospital was the third most overcrowded, with 45 people waiting for a bed, followed by Letterkenny University Hospital at 37.

It means the Northwest region had a combined total of 82 patients without beds.

University Hospital Limerick accounted for the largest backlog with 111 bedless patients.
