Cllr Niamh Kennedy has raised a motion at a meeting of Donegal County Council urging the Minister for Education, Hildegarde Naughton, to explore every avenue to introduce Politics and Society as a Leaving Certificate subject across schools in Donegal.
She hopes that if the subject was made available it would help accessibility for students who want to do Politics.
Speaking to Highland Radio Cllr Kennedy highlight some barriers to doing politics at Leaving Cert level including a €2,000 fee:
