Donegal fell short of the national average for the net survival rate for invasive female breast cancer from 2018 to 2022.
This was revealed in figures obtained by Aontú, following a Parliamentary Question from leader Peadar Tóibín.
Across the five year period, the national average for Ireland was revealed to be 87.3% while Donegal’s figure stood at 87.1%.
The largest discrepancy in the country was 14.5% between those in Limerick, at 80.3%, and those in Cavan, whose net survival rate was 94.8%.
