Gerard Curran has recently returned home after completing what many regard to be the “Tour de France” of mountain biking in South Africa.
“Cape Epic” is a gruelling eight-day event through the suburbs of Cape Town and Ardara resident Curran, alongside his teammate Justin Doherty, finished in a time of 52 hours, 12 minutes and 58 seconds.
The pair had to endure soaring temperatures, rough terrain and more extreme mental and physical challenges along the way.
