LIDL receive permission for new Derry store

Supermarket chain LIDL have been granted planning permission for a new store in Derry.

Due to be located at Crescent Link in Derry it was granted permission by Infrastructure Minister, Liz Kimmins.

The move has received cross party support from local politicians.

However, Foyle MLA Mark H. Durkan criticised the planning process, which lasted five years, calling it ‘ridiculously long’.
