360,000 public dentist appointments missed due to staffing issues

Children have missed almost 360,000 public dentist appointments because of a lack of staff.

HSE figures seen by the Irish Independent show 31 percent of kids who should have been seen in the last academic year were not.

The Irish Dental Association says the health service is not putting the required focus on recruiting dentists, especially when others retire or leave.
