Government ministers are set to meet on Monday to discuss a possible e-scooter ban.
Doctors have raised concerns around serious injuries, with Children’s Health Ireland reporting one to two children are presenting at emergency departments with e-scooter injuries every day this summer.
New laws for speed limits and age restrictions were brought in two years ago.
