A new Donegal Senior 800m record was recorded during this morning’s semi-finals of the European Athletics U18 Championships.
Tara Rose Smith of Finn Valley AC ran the two laps in 2:06.17, a new personal best, beating the previous longstanding Donegal record of 2:07.63.
She ultimately finished in sixth position in the race won by Slovakia’s Ziva Remic who achieved a new championship best time, 2:04.19.
