The shortage of social housing is forcing families to leave some of Glenties’ smaller towns and villages, according to one councillor.
Cllr Brian Carr says communities such as Ardara and Doochary may not be at the centre of the housing crisis, but they still have unmet housing needs.
He believes that providing even a small number of social homes in these areas would allow families to remain in their own communities instead of relocating to larger towns such as Donegal Town.
