
The decline in taxi numbers across rural Ireland has been raised in the Seanad ahead of the Oireachtas summer recess.
Termon-born Senator Robbie Gallagher says Donegal has seen a 21% drop in taxi numbers over the past decade, despite an increase in the county’s population.
He says the shortage is now creating both an economic bottleneck and a social barrier for many people living in rural areas.
