Westport House has been left out of the latest sale from NAMA’s loan portfolio.
The Government intervened to ensure the stately home, which is in the Taoiseach’s Mayo constituency, wasn’t included in a bundle of properties code named ‘Project Arrow’ worth around 6 billion Euro.
NAMA’s been criticised for giving the US vulture fund ‘Cerberus’ the chance to buy the loans.
Cerberus is currently being investigated by the FBI and was also the buyer of controversial Northern Ireland loans, named “Project Eagle”.
Donegal Deputy Thomas Pringle has called for the suspension of the Project Arrow sale, saying questions remaining from the Project Eagle sale in the North have not been addressed.
He told the Dail this week the latest sale proposal should be stalled until questions are answered about what happened north of the border…….
