The National Association of General Practitioners says more investment is needed in GP services in rural areas.
The association has set up the No Doctor No Village campaign – to highlight the lack of health services in small towns and villages right around the country.
The latest in a series of meetings is to discuss the issue taking place in Co. Clare this evening. A similar meeting took place late last year in Donegal.
Dr Liam Glynn, a GP in Ballyvaughan says it’s very difficult to attract doctors to set up a practice in rural Ireland, and that means vacancies are not being filled, and rural services are being lost………….
