Derry City defeated Bray Wanderers 2-0 on Sunday evening at the Brandywell and with Shamrock Rovers drawing 1-1 with Finn Harps, Derry sit two points above the Hoops in third place in the Premier Division standings.
Kenny Shiels side scored both their goals in the opening 20 minutes.
Josh Daniels scored on six minutes to grab his second goal in two games.
The lead was doubled 14 minutes later by Nathan Boyle.
It was Derry’s first win in three home games and they remain ten points adrift of leaders Dundalk and six behind Cork City.
